5 out of 5 stars The Scholarship Book 13th Edition   February 5, 2010

My daughter was able to find 8-10 scholarships that she could apply for from this book. If she receives even one of them, it will be worth the price of the book! She was having a hard time finding scholarships she qualified to apply for since she took a year off after high school.

5 out of 5 stars Great help for high school and beyond   March 23, 2010
J. Kennel (Terre Haute, IN USA)
This book is very detailed and includes hundreds of scholarships. The scholarships are numbered, named, and have descriptions, contact information, amount awarded, number awarded, if they are renewable, deadlines, what field of study is required/allowed, other eligibility requirements, web site and email, as well as physical address, phone, and fax information to contact the scholarship issuer.

There is a CD with the book, inside the back cover, so you can read/go through the book online searching by topics. There are scholarships for people with disabilities, people of different races, people of different ages and stages of college/graduate school, different faiths, and more.

Most of the scholarships are USA based, but some are for other countries. Also, most in this book that are for graduate degrees appear to be for those OTHER than MBAs, including social work, nursing, radiology, journalism, and others.

There is an alphabetical index, but because of the detailed descriptions it is probably best to search for a major or key word. For example, if a union or other organization has scholarships, you may find the scholarship by searching under "blind" or "diabetes" or "economics" or "Native American", not by XYZ Pipefitters Union or XYZ Foundation.

We have other books, and are using a couple of web sites, but this book is very handy to use starting with high school juniors and seniors. Every little bit helps. For the price I think it's a very great deal. Happy hunting!

The book did give some information but so far we haven't received all we need. This was highly recommended by my college professor cousin. We will continue looking for additional help for my grandson.
